Sarah Quigg

My name is Sarah Quigg, and I am an Agriculture Educator at Ephrata High School in Lancaster County. I am the only Agriculture teacher in the district, and this is my fourth year teaching. This year I have courses in Power Technology, Ag Science, Animal Science, Food Science, and SAE. I also serve as the Cloister FFA Advisor which keeps me very busy!

I went to the University of Delaware and majored in Agriculture Education. Between my freshman and sophomore year at college, I served as the Eastern Region Vice President of the Pennsylvania FFA.  I also was a research intern at Pioneer Hi-Bred International where I worked to develop double haploid lines. I also was the IPM intern for a summer at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Longwood is also one of my favorite places to visit. I also was able to participate in Delaware’s study abroad program to Australia. We stayed “down under” for about three weeks and traveled the southeastern part of the country.

I like to travel and explore. I also enjoy being outside, so my hobbies include kayaking, rock climbing, and photography.

Travis Casper
I am Travis Casper and I live in Clayton, NC with my wife and two daughters. My oldest daughter is  five and my youngest is one year old. We have been in Clayton since 2008. I grew up in northeastern North Carolina in the small farming community of Sunbury where I graduated from Gates County High School in 1997. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Parks and Recreation Management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in May 2001. I am the Assistant Hunter Education Coordinator for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and stationed in Raleigh. My  duties include coordinating the N.C. Archery in the Schools Program and the N.C. Hunter Education Skills Tournament. North Carolina currently has more than two hundred schools teaching hunter education and sponsoring Hunter Education Skills Teams. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Parks and Recreation Management from N.C. State and enrolled in AEE 526 to satisfy an elective requirement. I have a passion for North Carolina’s hunting heritage and enjoy introducing kids to the hunting tradition.

Rebecca Fisher
I am a first year graduate student hoping to earn a Master of Agricultural Education in the Spring of 2012. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology, a field in which I worked for about 4 years...then decided to go work on an Organic farm, to clear my head! Wherever it is that I land, I hope to be able to motivate students and communities to embrace sustainable agriculture principles. (Click here to e-mail Rebecca.)

Lendy Johnson
The name is Lendy Johnson and while I am not the oldest graduate assistant in the office, I think I have been at NCSU longer than any of the rest. I received my undergraduate in Ag Education in 2006 and the Masters will come in spring of 2011.  Latest post:  "TA Tricks of the Trade," 12/17/10  (Click here to e-mail Lendy.)
